New Release! Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer Review

Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer

Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer

Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Instant Perfecting Primer

Soap and Glory have done it again and released a new product. If you are a reader of my blog you will know one of my holy grail products is the Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder so i was so excited when i saw they have now released the Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Instant Perfecting Power Primer. I bought this as soon as it was released and had high hopes.

Boy did Soap & Glory deliver! As always the packaging is gorgeous! It comes in a pale pink tube with the black and pink writing which really stands out. I love how girly Soap & Glorys products are. The squeezy tube makes it really easy to determine how much product you use.

The primer itself has a light pink colour. You only need a small amount to cover your whole face which is amazing! As it is pink in colour it definitely reduced some of my redness which is perfect before i apply my foundation. I rubbed it in with my fingers then left it a few minutes to sink in. It didn't leave any stickiness to my skin but my skin didn't feel too matte either. I carried on with my makeup, applying foundation and then my One Heck Of A Blot Powder.

10 Hours later my makeup looked incredible! No shine or anything which is really impressive as my skin is oily as can be! Soap and Glory have definitely made a new holy grail product for me! This retails for £10 which is a great bargain for the amazing job it does.

Bring Your Hair Back To Life | Nanokeratin Hair Care*

Hair care is something i always try to improve. My hair has been dyed and bleached more times than i care to remember. I have been on the hunt for a product that will help bring my hair back to life without ruining the colour.

Nanokeratin System is a hair care brand i haven't heard of until now. I am so happy i have been given the chance to try out this brand as i am super impressed! Firstly i received the Nanokeration System Restore Preserve Colour Shampoo.
What The Product States:
Inherit an anti-fade effect for coloured hair, replenishes and continues to balance post-treatment hair, cleansing while restoring optimum moisture levels and nutrients, without stripping its colour.

So whats different about this shampoo? As soon as i used this shampoo i noticed my extra thick hair felt alot smoother than normal. My hair is so thick it takes two hairdressers to dry my hair so it definitely soaks up alot of shampoo. My dark brown coloured hair has looked healthier over the past week and i have had comments asking if i have recently dyed my hair which i haven't! So this shampoo does the trick!

The second product i received was the Nanokeratin System Replenish Colour Preserving Mask which is definitely my favourite of the two products.
How To Use:
Shampoo your hair as normal, rinse and then apply this mask on towel dried hair. It states to apply this mask from roots to tips and leave on for 20 minutes. You can use this under heat. After 20 minutes i rinsed my hair and instantly felt how soft my hair was. Usually when rinsing off hair masks because of how thick my hair is i tend to get alot of knots. This mask is a life saver!

Since using both products together my dull coloured hair looks revived and feels much more healthy. Since trying this high end duo i can easily say it is worth the money, my hair has never felt better! You can currently buy this duo inc a 320ml Shampoo and 500ml Mask from Toni & Guy CLICK HERE

Budget Eye Makeup Brushes

Budget Friendly Eye Makeup Brushes

Budget Friendly Eye Makeup Brushes

Over the past year i have definitely started being more creative with my eye makeup. To create the perfect look you need to make sure everything else falls into place, your eyebrows and your under eyes. A while ago i did my Bargain Budget Makeup Brushes which inc 4 face brushes (link will be left at the end of this post). This time i thought i would share my most favourite eye brushes which everyone needs.

Firstly i begin with my under eyes. I do suffer with dark under eye circles so i do like to conceal them. The Real Techniques Setting Brush i find can be used two ways. Firstly if you are applying a liquid concealer you can use this brush to blend it in to create a natural effect. Secondly as the name suggests you can set your under eyes with it. I couldn't live without this brush.

Next up is brows, I am loving trying out new brow products but no matter how expensive the products are they are nothing without the right tool. The brow brush i have been using non stop for the past few months is the Zoeva 322 Brow Line brush which is a small slightly angled brush which is perfect for creating "The Perfect Brow". It is quite a dense brush which makes it easy to create precise lines when filling in your brows.

One trick i always do to finish of my brows to create a flawless effect is applying a cream concealer to line my brows. I apply this all under my brow and on the outer corners. I love to use either the Benefit Boi-ing Concealer or one from my Freedom Correct & Conceal Palette. To apply the product and blend out i use my Nanshy EB03 Flat Definer brush, this brush has a flat edge which helps keep neat lines.

Now onto the eyeshadow. Upgrading my tools has definitely helped my eyeshadow game! The first one is the Zoeva 227 Luxe Soft Definer Brush which has been said to be a dupe for the MAC 217 brush. This Zoeva brush is perfect for in my crease, it applies the right amount of product which can easily be built up. I then blend each time i apply more shadow. Blend Blend Blend they say, you can't blend better than with the trusty Sigma E40 Tapered Blending Brush. I purchased this from Feel Unique after i realised how cheap it was! It is definitely worth the hype.

Seventeen Skin Wow Primer/Highlighter | The Perfect Glow*

Seventeen Skin Wow Primer

Seventeen Skin Wow Primer Highlighter

The Seventeen Skin Wow Primer / Highlighter is a product that needs alot more praise than it gets. I haven't seen it in the blogging world that much. Even though we are coming into Autumn i still want to have that little glow. This product is just perfect.

The packaging is very sleek in a long tube with a pump. The pump makes it easy to determine how much product you want to use. The main reason i love this product is that it can be used 3 ways!

1. Primer | You can use this product as a primer or wear it alone. As you can see from my rubbed in swatch, this creates the most gorgeous base. It is glowy and so pretty!
2. Mix With Foundation | Add the smallest amount to your foundation and then apply as normal. It gives your foundation the subtle dewy/glowy look without being shiny.
3. Highlight | Dab a small amount onto your cheekbones to create the perfect highlight.

I have oily skin so i was worried how this would work if i mixed it in with my foundation. I can honestly say it works incredibly well! It doesn't make me oily or make me look like a disco ball! My skin has that subtle glow just like i wanted. Personally i love to use this mixed in with my foundation or as a highlight on my cheekbones as i love to use mattifying primers under my foundation. Whether you have dry or oily skin this will work for you.

At £5.99 this multi-purpose product is a must have! The Seventeen Skin Wow Primer can be purchased from Boots online or in store.

MAC Pro Longwear Foundation vs MAC Studio Fix Foundation

MAC Foundations can be confusing as they now have so many and sometimes people aren't sure which one is for them. I thought I would compare the MAC Pro Longwear Foundation against the MAC Studio Fix Foundation and also compare the shades for you. I do adore both of these foundation but for very different reasons.

The Perfect Gloss | Essence XXXL Lip Gloss Review & Swatches*

Tuesday, September 22, 2015
Essence XXXL Lip Gloss Shade 03

Essence XXXL Lip Gloss Shade 03

Essence is a brand i haven't tried much from. I have a couple of lipsticks which i love so i am super excited to be trying out some products. I used to be a huge lover of lip gloss and hate lipstick but over the past year that has changed. I do still like the odd lip gloss now and then but im very picky on which ones i use.

The Essence XXXL Nude Lip Gloss states to enhance your lips natural beauty with a subtle colour pigmentation to create a fresh look. I have to admit i wasn't sure what to expect with this gloss but im extremely impressed. The colour is gorgeous, a light pink which looks super pretty once applied. The formula doesn't feel sticky at all like most glosses which really suprised me. The shade i have is 03 which is a gorgeous light pink shade.

I applied this in the morning and loved the look it created. My lips looked natural and fresh with a subtle hint of colour just like the glosses states. I find alot of pink glosses come across more sheer which i don't like so i was over the moon when this looked exactly like the swatch above once applied on the lips. The lasting power is perfect! It lasts longer than any other gloss i have tried.

The best part about the Essence XXXL Nude Lip Gloss is that it only costs £1.99! Wait a minute let me get this right...Its the best gloss i have ever tried and it costs less than £2! You can buy this gloss from Wilkinson's Store but they have lots of other shades on the Wilkos Website HERE.

Seventeen Wet Look Lacquer Liner | Bulletproof Liner!*

Seventeen Wet Look Lacquer Liner

Seventeen Wet Look Lacquer Liner

Seventeen Wet Look Lacquer Liner Swatch

I have recently became a fan of liquid liners. I used to be the kind of girl who tried to use liquid liner and create flicks but i would end up looking like a panda. My go to eye liner was the Benefit They're Real Liner but its on the pricey side so its always good to find an alternative at the Drugstore. Here comes in the Seventeen Wet Look Lacquer Liner which is incredible.

I love the whole design of this liner especially the sleek packaging. Most liners i find the applicators are too long which causes a "mess" for us beginners. I much prefer the shorter applicator on this liner as it makes it easier to do small areas at a time and be more precise. As you can tell by the name it is a wet look liner which leaves a gorgeous finish. I was really amazed at how pigmented it is. You can see from my swatch that the liner is extremely black! I hate when you buy a liner and the colour is off black, so this is definitely a bonus point for Seventeen.

Another question you all will be wanting to know is how good is the lasting power? Well its impressive! I applied this as you would and carried on with my day. At the end of the day the liner was exactly how i applied it in the morning! I tried removing it with baby wipes but it didn't want to budge! I then used my Garnier Micellar Water and it came off easier without damaging my skin.

Overall it is one of the best Liquid Liners i have tried! I am super impressed with how it lasted and that it didn't come off with baby wipes. The Seventeen Wet Look Lacquer Liner retails for £3.99... BARGAIN! You can buy this liner from Boots.

Foundation Friday | Clarins Everlasting Foundation Review

Clarins Everlasting Foundation

Clarins Everlasting Foundation
Foundation Friday is back! I used to do this series on my blog a while ago but thought it was time to bring it back. I own around 30-35 foundations which is excessive i know! I just can't help myself. I am always on the hunt for that perfect base. Over the past week i have given you all the chance on Twitter and Instagram to vote out of a choice of four foundations. The winner this week is the Clarins Everlasting Foundation which was in lead by quite a few votes.

Like always lets start with the packaging. This bottle is definitely high end! It is a glass frosted bottle which looks gorgeous with the gold lid. The bonus points go to Clarins as YES it has a pump! Finally a high end brand which provides the pump to make life that little bit easier. You receive the standard amount of 30ml like most foundations.

The Clarins Everlasting Foundation has a matte finish whilst still looking luminous. I do love a good matte base but sometimes you still want to look like you have that slight glow. With me there is a difference from looking luminous and looking oily its a fine line not to cross! This foundation does that perfectly. The coverage is medium to full and easily buildable. I find it blends in easily and doesn't feel heavy.

Clarins claim this foundation to have 18 hours of wear and keeping us matte. Does it do this? Yes it does. I have super oily skin and find this foundation works well on me if i use a good primer and powder. I would say this foundation would work on Oily or Dry Skin. Even though it has a matte finish it isn't drying, doesn't cling to dry patches and it isn't super matte like some foundations.

I can definitely see myself using this more now in A/W especially with me preferring a fuller coverage. To get best results i found applying with a sponge/Beauty Blender was best.

Where To Buy on Offer:
Escentual | £24.50
AllBeauty | £23.45

Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit

Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit

Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit Swatches

Gone are the days when the brand Seventeen was just for young teenage girls. Over the past year i have noticed a huge difference in the branding of Seventeen. It looks so much more professional and the range of products is amazing. If you are a long term reader of my blog you will know Seventeen is my favourite drugstore brand! When i was contacted asking if i wanted to try some of their products i jumped at the chance. One of the first products i received was the Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit. Im all about that contour!

As we all know Kim K introduced us all to the contour world and it has become a huge hit. Some people are moving onto Strobing but for me contouring is something i do on a daily basis whether its subtle or BAM Hello Cheekbones. The packaging for the Seventeen Contour Kit is very sleek and high end looking. It comes in a compact case with a decent size mirror and instructions of how to contour. I love the small touch of having the instructions with a picture especially if you are a beginner it can really help.

The texture of each powder feels silky smooth which applies like a dream. One thing i find with contouring products is some can come up a little orange looking on me but i can confirm this is not orange! Lets all do a dance! The contour shade blends easy and is easily buildable depending on your desired look. The one question... Does it look muddy? The answer is no! The only thing i will say is try different brushes to apply this with as i found some worked better than others.

The Powder/Highlight Shade? I love it. I mainly use this shade under my eyes to brighten them up and i also use it under where i contour on my cheekbones to create a more defined look. Overall i have to say i am so in love with this palette and will definitely purchase it when im finished with this one. Whether your a beginner or a novice you will find this palette easy to work with!

The Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit retails for £5.99 and comes in two shades.

Tanya Burr Hollywood Eyes Palette Review

Tanya Burr Hollywood Eyes Palette

Tanya Burr Hollywood Eyes Palette Swatches

Tanya Burr Hollywood Eyes Palette Swatches

If you read my blog you will know im not the type to jump on a bandwagon. Other bloggers have bought out products like Zoella but the products have never interested me. As soon as i saw the Tanya Burr Hollywood Eyes Palette i knew i had to have it. If i could put myself into shades these shades would be it.

Tanya Burr has recently launched her Makeup Range with Superdrug. The range consists of Eye Shadows, Lip gloss, Nail Polish, False Lashes and some sets. I ordered the Hollywood Eyes Palette and a Lip Gloss which i will be showing in another post. The Tanya Burr Hollywood Eyes Palette is just stunning.

Firstly lets give her a big woop woop for the packaging. It is super girly with with golds, beige's and pinks and comes in a firm cardboard box. As you open the box you see four rather large size eye shadows and a good size heart shaped mirror. I love how the packaging is perfect if you are travelling and you can create a whole eye look with this palette.

The shades are super pretty! The first shade "Nude Delight" is a yellow/beige tone which is perfect for all over the lid. Then we move onto "Gold Coin" which is a subtle gold shade without being too heavy. Next up we have "Enhancement" which is a shimmery bronze shade, i have to admit this is the only shade that had a little fall out but its still a gorgeous shade none the less. Lastly we have "Bookworm" a stunning chocolate shade perfect for in the crease and outer corners.

Overall this palette is definitely worth a buy at only £6.99. I am really impressed with the shades and the pigmentation.

Have you tried anything from the Tanya Burr Range?
Psst... Keep an eye out for my review of the Lip Gloss i picked up!

Skincare Perfect For A/W ft Antipodes Natural Skincare*

Antipodes Connect With Nature Skincare

Antipodes Light Facial Day Cream

Antipodes Skin Plumping Serum

Throughout the Summer my skin has been extremely oily and a nightmare to deal with but over the past few weeks I've noticed even though my skin is oily it is also very dry on my cheeks and nose area. Most people will notice a skin change with the changing weather. I was recently sent some products to try out and at first i wasn't sure if they would be for me but boy was i wrong!

Antipodes Connect With Nature Skincare is a brand i hadn't heard of before now. It is a natural/organic brand with products for everyone. Firstly i tried the Antipodes Hosanna H2o Skin Plumping Serum which is aimed at plumping your skin and targeting cell renewal. I have always been scared of oil based serums as i worry it will make my skin extra oily. This serum has proved me wrong. I love the whole design as it comes with a squeeze type tube so you can easily use the amount you need without wasting product. This serum has a lovely light scent. I massage this into my face and neck and leave it to sink in. The oil quickly sinks into my skin leaving it feel smooth. Since using this serum my dry patches have disappeared which is amazing!

Next i tried the Antipodes Rejoice Light Facial Day Cream. The packaging advises to apply the Antipodes Hosanna H2o Skin Plumping Serum and then to apply this day cream. The Facial Day Cream includes Avocado Oil, Manuka Bloom & Sweet Almond. The Facial Cream has a thicker consistency than a moisturiser so be sure to fully massage this into your skin. Once rubbed in it drys quickly leaving a slightly matte finish which i loved.

I have been using this combo for 2 weeks now and have noticed a huge improvement in my skin compared to any other products i have tried before. Beauty Bay currently have the Antipodes Skincare Range on offer with 20% off!

LA Girl Pro Concealer vs MAC Pro Longwear Comparison
When it comes to makeup, one thing I can't live without is concealer. The MAC Pro Longwear Concealer is my holy grail product. Everyone seems to rave about the LA Girl Pro Concealer being a dupe for the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer so i decided to see what all the hype was about.

Sunday Summary | This Week I've Been

Sunday, September 06, 2015
Lifestyle Blog

Another week has passed and its now September! Autumn is on its way and i am super excited. Autumn is my favourite time of the year and im ready to bring out the Tartan, Fur and Boots. So lets see what i have been up to this week!

Operation Update
It has now been 2 weeks since my big knee operation and i have to admit i am finding it harder than i thought i would. I am still bed bound and in alot of pain. Having my leg straight 24/7 and lying in the same position definitely takes its toll. I have to say i am feeling positive and looking forward to next year.

Shopping
I finally decided it was time to replace my Leather Jacket as it is a few years old and looking a little tatty. So i treated myself to a new Black Leather Look Faux Fur Biker Jacket from  River Island. Im in love with it! It is a black leather jacket with a brown fur collar, the collar is detachable which i think is perfect depending on the weather. I also won this gorgeous grey furry jumper with the necklace attached on Ebay for £7 and it is brand new! how stunning is this necklace?!

Scrap Booking
As some of you know i decided to start my own scrapbook of photos from me as a baby up until now. This week i started it and i am loving being creative. I ordered some stickers and embellishments to help decorate the pages and they are just so cute! Most of the stickers/embellishments are from Hobby Craft and The Range. I also get alot of bits and pieces from Ebay.

Food
Lets just say i have eaten more Bueno's than i care to admit! I am obsessed with them at the moment. My chocolate spread on toast phase is still on going, i just can't seem to get enough!

Random
Above you can see a picture of some Ice Creams which is now my Iphone's Lock Screen! How cute is it! I actually found it on Pinterest and thought it would make the cutest background.

TV
This week i have been obsessed with watching Say Yes To The Dress which is basically a show where women go to try on and find their wedding dresses. Some of the dresses are just gorgeous. I am also obsessed with Celebrity Big Brother, this is the first season i find interesting as there are so big characters.

What's Been In My Makeup Bag Through July and August ♡ | Keep Dreaming

Friday, September 04, 2015
whats in my makeup bag

Since the weather is starting to change so is my makeup, but before Summer is totally gone I thought I'd show you what products were in my makeup bag throughout July and August.

For base products I kept two in my bag as it'd depend on the weather if I wanted a glowy/dewy look or just a simple plain matte face. For days where I just didn't want a glow I used the Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer while days I wanted a nice healthy glow to my skin I used my beloved Botanics Radiance Balm.

For Foundation instead of my beloved Rimmel Match Perfection as I'm trying to use some products to get rid of them, the Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation was the one I was using. This little size came in the Light kit of How To Look The Best At Everything and I can't get away with wearing it unless I fake tan as it's still way too dark for me.
Concealer wise as always the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in shade #2 and the Benefit Boi~ing Concealer in #01 and #02 which I'm just again like the foundation trying to use up.
As always for when I need powder I used the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder which I've recently smashed by accident and so it's a tad bit messy now so I'll more than likely replace it very soon.

To prime my eyes I was using the Focus & Fix Eye Primer by Makeup Revolution. It's ok and does the job but it's almost gone and I doubt I will repurchase it.
For eyes I was obsessed with the MUA Romantic Efflorescence Palette as I just adore the shades and think it's quite a nice palette for Summer. The shadows are also really pigmented and creamy, it's also super affordable!
I cannot go anywhere without some winged liner and as always my trusty Maybelline Gel Liner is a staple must have.
For mascara I was using the W7 Oh So Waterproof Mascara and I have to say I really like this. The formula isn't too thick and after getting stuck in rain it's definitely waterproof!

For my brows I was using the Collection Brow Kit which I adore and have yet to find another brow product to replace this with as it's just that good.
For my brow highlight I was obsessing over the Makeup Studio Pigment in Rose Quartz which is the most gorgeous white pigment with a rose glisten to it.

Finally for bronzing/contouring and highlighting I was back using the Bourjois Delice de Poudre Duo which I've been loving again.
And for my lips I've been adoring a Red lip, so I've been using the Makeup Studio Red Lip liner and then the L'oreal Blake's Red Lipstick and I just adore the both of them together I'm slightly obsessed!

What's been your go to products for Summer?

I would like to say a big thank you to Jordan for guest posting on my blog as i was in need of help after my big knee operation. If you would like to check out Jordan's Blog "Keep Dreaming" CLICK HERE

August Favourites 2015

Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick 04

This month i have tried so many new products and found it hard to narrow my favourites down. Thos months favourites are all new products i have never tried until this month. The Summer is nearly over and i have to say i am looking forward to Autumn. I love A/W Fashion and the hot chocolates with marshmallows. So what did i pick as my favourites this month?

As soon as i saw this palette had been released i ordered it straight away. One thing that drew me to the palette was the fact it had the lighter powder shades, a selection of contour shades and highlighters! The yellow toned powder is perfect to brighten under the eyes and the highlight shades are just perfection.

Bourjois lipsticks are underrated. The pigmentation is amazing and the shades available are gorgeous. I have been on the hunt for a shade like this for some time now and i have fallen in love with this one. The shade is just perfect for Autumn and the texture is creamy and not drying at all.

Natural Collection Blush "Pink Cloud" | £1.99
Natural Collection is not a brand i tend to buy from but the blushes are worth a buy. They have some gorgeous shades and Pink Cloud is the perfect pink toned blush.

I have been on the hunt for a perfect hand cream and this is just it. This cream can be used on hands, elbows, knees and feet. It smells gorgeous and it really does moisturise the skin.

As you all know i hand very oily skin which can also become dehydrated so when i saw this moisturiser i picked it up straight away. It says it is a Anti Shine & Anti Blemish Moisturiser. When i applied this it does have a strange scent but once rubbed in the scent disappears. As soon as this soaks in my skin instantly feels matte. I have never known a moisturiser to create the matte effect instantly. It really does help keep my shine at bay.
