Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette Review & Swatches

As soon as I saw Makeup Revolution had released a contour palette, I had to have it straight away. I have to admit I have tried many Drugstore contour kits and hated all of them, especially the Barry M Chisel Cheeks. What drew me to the Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette was the choice of contour shades, a yellow powder shade and highlighted all in one!

I am pretty pale, and I’m an NW20 in MAC or NW25 if tanned, so I always find most contour kits the bronzer shade looks orange on me. As soon as I opened the packaging, I fell in love. I am starting with the top row of shades, including a pink tone powder, yellow tone powder, nude tone powder, and a highlight shade. I used the yellow-toned powder under my eyes, and it did brighten them up! The other two shades would make perfect powder shades in different areas.

The contour shades are perfect. As you can see in my second swatch photo, the shadows are not orange at all. I love how there are three shades to choose from, and they blend amazingly well. I used the darker shades to contour my cheekbone area and the lighter shades around my forehead and under my chin. I was impressed with how well each shade blended and didn’t have that dirty look.

Onto the two highlight shades. Both shades on my swatch photos are the end right shades. As you can see, the lighter highlighter in my top swatches is incredible! I have used this on my cheekbones and fallen in love. It creates that “intense” highlight look. If you prefer a more natural/subtle highlight, the bottom shade is for you.

The texture is lovely, it feels almost creamy, but they are powders. Already I have used pretty much every shade! The only shade I won’t use as much is the bottom highlight shade. For £8.00, this palette is definitely worth the money! Well done, Makeup Revolution. You have converted me to love a Drugstore Contour Kit!
