Natural Face Makeup Look

Summer is here which means time to switch up that base and add a little more sparkle. For me Summer makeup is all about having that flawless looking base without being heavy and adding a pop of colour. In the Summer my oily skin tends to be worse but recently since switching up my skincare routine, i have found it is less oily which makes it easier wearing certain products.

Having the perfect base is key to any makeup look. I always use mattifying primers and lately i have been loving the Bourjois Happy Light Matte Primer. It is as it says lightweight but feels super moisturising for my skin without making me extra oily. It sets in well and preps my skin perfectly. I then move onto my new favourite Summer foundation and that is the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in the shade Santa Fe. I won a voucher for Nars and picked this foundation as i had heard amazing things. It gives medium to full coverage but still feels very light on my skin.

Concealers are something i have love/hate relationships with. I often suffer with dark under eye circles but lately they don't seem to be as bad. For the days my under eye circles are behaving and playing ball i love to use the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer. I tend to use this more as a highlighter and slightly under my eyes. It is super creamy and blends like a dream! Powder is a must for me and right now the NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat is right up my street. It is a dupe for the MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation, gives a lovely flawless finish and keeps my makeup lasting all day.

I am quite pale, dark brown hair and blush eyes so i love pink blushes. The Body Shop Baked To Last Blush is perfect. It has a slight shimmer but gives a gorgeous pink tone to my cheeks which i love. Also i am loving The Body Shop Baked Bronzer which i use more as a highlighter and can see myself using this alot this Summer.

Lifestyle Blogpost

Lifestyle Blogpost

It has finally come to the time where i have decided to start my own series of lifestyle posts. I am getting a little bored of just doing beauty posts and wanted to mix it up a little.

New Hobby...
For those of you who don't know i am currently off work sick awaiting my second knee operation which will be in August. I have been off work for a long time and will be probably until after Christmas so i have been finding new things to keep me occupied. Going through old photos i have decided to make a scrapbook of my life. I am excited to decorate the book and make something i can keep forever.

Date Night...
Saturday night was date night. Me and my boyfriend went to Frankie & Bennys which was gorgeous. I have a huge sweet tooth and the deserts at F&B are just so yummy! We then went to the cinema to watch the new Jurassic Film and it was amazing. After everyone raving about it i am glad i went to watch it. I was not a fan of the old Jurassic Films but i loved this one! As above you can see my grey/lilac top which i wore, it is super comfy and looks gorgeous. I got this from Boohoo.

Hospital Update...
Thursday i was at the hospital again and i was very nervous as i didn't know what the outcome would be. Before we went, me and my mum stopped off at Nando's for some lunch. She has got me hooked on the halloumi cheese! On Thursday i finally got told i would be having my second knee operation hopefully in August. It will be a big operation having screws put into my knee etc...I will be off work for probably another 6 months :( I will be doing a post to explain more about this and how it will effect me blogging.

New Things...
I recently wanted a new Summer handbag, something bright. I saw this yellow tote bag in New Look and fell in love! It is a gorgeous banana coloured bag perfect for summer. I also got the new "50 Shades Book" which i cannot wait to read as i loved all of the others. I usually do my own gel nails but lately i am loosing the patience from being in pain all the time so i picked up these cute flamingo nails from boots which i am really loving!

Hope you enjoyed my first ever lifestyle post and i hope to be doing these more often! Don't forget to follow me on my instagram shown above!

My Foundation Collection | Best Foundations 2015

Best Foundations For 2015 Review

As you can see i have a slight obsession with foundations. I think at the moment i own over 30, yes 30! I didn't actually realise how many i owned until i got them out for this post. I am always on the hunt for that "perfect, flawless" base. I have decided to do a post on the foundations i find best for Sensitive Skin, BB Cream, Full Coverage, Mattifying and Natural Looking.

Foundations For Sensitive Skin

My skin can be very sensitive and prone to breakouts on my chin area. When my skin is going through the breakout phase my go to foundations are Clinique Even Better Makeup and Elf Acne Fighting Foundation. The Elf foundation is one i ordered from Beauty Joint (cheap UK postage) and i am amazed by it. It is a full coverage foundation that helps fight against acne. It does have a strong smell but once applied this goes away. This foundation is perfect to fight against acne as it includes Salicylic Acid, Witch Hazel, Camphor, Tea Tree and soothing Aloe.
Clinique's Even Better Makeup is perfect for sensitive skin but at the same time it helps even out skintones. It also includes SPF 15. Clinique is well known for helping sensitive skin. This is a medium coverage.

Best BB Cream for oily skin

This Garnier BB Cream is heaven in a bottle. I picked up the one for combination-oily skin and it is amazing. The consistency is very runny but applies well, the coverage is medium-full which amazed me for a BB Cream. It keeps my oily skin at bay and keeps me matte all day long! Garnier also do one for dry skin types but the product is not as high in coverage.

Matte Foundations for oily skin review

Having oily skin can be a nightmare so to find products that keep me matte are hard to come by. The No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation is one of the bets matte products i have ever tried. This lasts me all day and keeps me matte. It is a medium coverage with SPF 15. Also the ELF Acne Fighting Foundation and Garnier BB Cream are both amazing at keeping oily skin matte.

Best Full Coverage Foundations

Seventeen is one of my favourite drugstore brands. This Stay Time Foundation is perfect is you are wanting a full coverage look. This comes with a pump and applies full coverage after just one application. The product has SPF 25 and really does last all day. I find this to be more full coverage than the MAC Studio Fix Foundation

Perfect Summer Foundation

I have recently been testing out the Nars Sheer Glow foundation and i have to say i am very impressed. The coverage is medium but buildable. I was suprised how light weight this was on my skin but still gave an impressive amount of coverage. I have oily skin and found this stayed on my skin very well in the hot weather. I can see myself using this alot in the summer if i know i will be going out for long periods of time.

Dr Paw Paw Lip Balm Review*

Dr Paw Paw Lip Balm Review

Dr Paw Paw Lip Balm Review

Over the past few weeks this balm has been mentioned on a lot of blogs. Everyone seems to be obsessed with it, but why? When i was first sent this product i have to admit i wasn't very excited to try it as at the end of the day its a lip balm, a basic product. It came in the normal kind of packaging but it did stand out being bright yellow which i liked.

The first thing that i noticed about this product is that it can be used for more than just a balm. This balm can be used for Lips, Skin, Hair, Beauty Finishing, Cuticles and Nails. The product is fragrance free which is a good thing if you use it on hair or skin. Another main factor that makes this balm different to the rest is that it is full of natural ingredients including Paw Paw, the fruit of the Carica Papaya plant, Aloe Barbadensis Leat Juice, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil and Medical grade Petrolatum Sorbate.

So what did i think? When you first try to squeeze the product out it does take quite a while as the product consistency is quite thick. I applied this onto my lips and noticed they felt super soft and it lasted ages. I decided to try this in other ways and applied this to some dry area's of skin and also around the cuticles of my nails. I found it really did improve the dry parts of my skin, i was very impressed.

Overall for prices of around £6.95-£6.99 this balm is amazing and i have to agree it is worth the hype. You can also by a tinted version which i will definitely be ordering asap! This product is available from ASOSLook FantasticBoots & more. You can also buy this product in a bigger size which would be perfect to use on hair.

Have you tried this product?

June You Beauty Discovery Box Review

Crown Brush C436 Duo Fibre Blender Brush Review

XEN-TAN Luminous Gold Gel Tan Review 30ml

XEN-TAN Luminous Gold Gel Tan Review

Yes i finally did it, i finally signed up to a subscription box. I have been wanting to do this for a while now but couldn't decide which box to go for. I thought the best way is to search the past 6 months of each box to see if the products were something i would like. I looked at Glossybox and found not one box interested me. I finally came across the You Beauty Discovery Box. This isn't one i have seen or heard of before. It costs £6.95 a month inc postage and every month you get to choose 2 products out of a choice of 10. Some products are full size and some are smaller.

In Junes box i picked the XEN-TAN Luminous Gold Gel which is a tan i haven't heard of before. I can say i am very happy i picked this and i have already order the full size. It doesn't smell like fake tan at all, it smells a little fruity! When you apply it is a clear gel with sparkles of gold in it. The tan showed up on my hand as above very quickly and the colour is stunning. The gold element does disappear which i was happy about and it gives a gorgeous summer brown tan. It dries quickly, no fake tan smell and is the best tan i have ever tried!

Next up i picked the Crown Brush C436 Duo Fiber Blender Brush. I love this brush it is perfect. I use it to blend my concealer and any highlight, it is the perfect size and such good quality. I will definitely be picking up more brushes.

I also received some fruit teas, makeup wipes and a leaflet. In the leaflet it gives you deals for other boxes which you can get discounted at amazing prices. Overall i am very happy with this box and cannot wait to see what July's 10 products are.

Skin Care Routine

Skin Care Routine For Oily Skin

The last skincare post i did was in August 2014 and it is still one of my most popular posts. I have recently found a huge improvement in my skin and that is purely down to finding the right products for me. Having a skincare routine is something i have become to realise it is something i need to stick to and now i have found the right products i think i will end up sticking to it. I used to be the kind of girl that would just remove my makeup by using baby wipes and that was it!

My Skin Type
Before i begin i wanted to explain my skin type. I have very oily skin but i suffer with dry patches on my cheeks and it can become dehydrated. I only get breakouts on my skin area and find they can leave my skin blemished.

I have included two moisturisers in this post because i find my skin gets so used to using one that it tends not to work well so i will switch to my other favourite for a month and then switch back. I find doing this really helps my skin keep fresh. Firstly i love my Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturiser which is oil free. I used this for quite a few months and found it helped keep my skin clear. Once my skin got too used to it i switched to the Nivea Oil Free Moisturising Day Cream and found this soon cleared my skin up amazingly. Both of these are my all time holy grails in skincare and i will always stick to these two.

If you read my blog you will know i am a big lover of the L'Oreal Advanced Correcting Serum but recently the Vichy Aqualia Serum stole my heart. With Summer coming up i have found my skin to become dry on my cheeks and just feel dull. When i was sent this product i didn't expect to love it as much as i do. From first application this instantly made me skin feel fresh and alive. If you have dry or dehydrated skin then you need this in your life!

Night Cream
The newest product to my collection is the Tea Tree Blemish Solution Night Lotion. This stuff is a miracle in a bottle! I usually apply my normal moisturiser morning and night but not no more. I know apply my moisturiser in the morning and then this at night. It smells very strong of Tea Tree so if you don't like the smell bear that in mind even though after a couple of minutes the scent does fade. Since using this i have noticed i have not had any breakouts and the blemished area's/scarring are slowly fading! This product has saved my skin!

Face Mist/Setting Spray
I usually use my Urban Decay De Slick Setting Spray which i truly love. I recently ran out and decided to try a cheaper alternative. I picked up the Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist. This smells amazing! With the hotter weather i find this is perfect just to spritz on my face throughout the day to keep my skin feeling fresh. I have also recently picked up the Freedom Makeup Setting Spray which i use to set my makeup then keep The Body Shop one in my handbag for during the day.

Overall since using all of these products combined i have noticed a huge improvement in my skin. It looks alot more healthy, less blemishes and no breakouts! I can finally say i have found my perfect Skin Care Routine!

Freedom Makeup Haul

Freedom Makeup Concealer Palette

Freedom Makeup Pro 32 Eye Collection

Recently a new brand launched known as Freedom Makeup London which if you follow them on Twitter everyone was excited for this brand to go live. I decided to take a look on the website as i had a 20% discount code and free postage so i picked up a few bits. If you love Makeup Revolution you will definitely love this brand too.

Pro Conceal & Correct Palette "light" | £5.00
As soon as i saw this kit i had to have it. It includes 6 shades, 2 neutral tones, 2 yellow tones, 1 pink tone and 1 green tone. These concealers feel so soft and creamy, they blend like a dream! I am really impressed with this palette. This comes in 4 different shades and also an extra one to just correct.

Professional Makeup Fixing Spray 50ml | £3.50
If you read my blog you will have seen i recently ran out of my Urban Decay Setting Spray and picked up The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist. I will be using that one throughout the day but also wanted one to set my makeup as soon as i've applied it. This spray does the job the only thing i don't like is the scent. It does have that chemical smell but it soon goes away.

This reminded me of the bronzer/blush from NYX with this leopard print but it was discontinued. This shade is perfect. I use it as a blush and find it gives a gorgeous subtle pink shade. 4 Shades available.

Pro Lipstick in "103 Pink Lust" | £1.00
When i opened this it did look a little too bright for me so i was a little worried. Once i swatched it, it wasn't as bright which i was happy with. It works really well for a brighter lip that lasts ages!

This gloss is gorgeous! I find the colour is much better in pigmentation that most glosses i have tried. I have been using this the past couple of days as my day to day gloss.

My new favourite eyeshadow palette! The shades are just stunning. It contains matte and shimmer shades which is perfect for me. This palette has all my favourite kind of shades from neutrals, Gold, Bronze, Burgundy and more. I couldn't love this palette anymore. Below i have included a smokey eye i created using this palette only.

Body Shop Haul 2015

Body Shop Baked Blush in Petal

Body Shop Tea Tree Night Lotion

The Body Shop is not somewhere i shop often until recently. The Body Shops Makeup Range is such high quality but reasonable prices. I recently placed an order online as i had a 30% discount code. Everyone raves about the skincare products so i decided to give some a go.

Tea Tree is amazing for skin so when i saw this i had to have it. I currently have moisturisers that i am loving so i decided to pick up this night lotion to add to my skincare routine. I apply this every night before bed. It instantly soaks into my skin without leaving that tacky feeling. Yes it does smell strong of Tea Tree but that does soon disappear.
(Full review will be coming end of this week in my updated skincare routine post)

I usually use the Urban Decay Setting Spray which i love but i ran out so i decided to try something different. This spray smells amazing! I use this after i have applied my makeup and then keep it in my handbag and spray once during the day. It really does freshen up my makeup.

First of all how stunning is this blusher?! I have been eyeing this up for months and finally purchased it. It has two shades and creates the perfect subtle shimmer pink blush for summer. I am really impressed with this, it is now my favourite blush.

This bronzer/highlighter is just incredible. I loved how pretty it looked and thought it would be perfect for summer. I have just done a full review of this including swatches.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum Review

Vichy has become my favourite skincare brand so far! I am obsessed with the Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation, it is fuller coverage without being heavy and makes my skin look flawless. I have been trying out the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum and I have to say I am in love. As you can see from my picture above I am more than half way down. This serum is unlike any other I have tried.

The Body Shop Baked Bronzer Review

The Body Shop Baked Bronzer Review

The Body Shop Baked Bronzer Swatch

New highlighter in town? Yes, yes it is! I was recently in The Body Shop with my boyfriend when i came across this product. As soon as i swatched it i knew i had to have it. Being the lovely boyfriend that he is, he offered to buy me it. I have been wanting the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in a couple of shades and i have to say this is the perfect dupe for the Mineralize Skinfinish in Global Glow.

This is the Baked To Last Bronzer in shade 02 Warm Glow. I am honestly in love with this and wearing it almost everyday! It is a gold based bronzer with a slight shimmer as shown in my swatch above. I find it gives the perfect amount of highlight with a warm glow. I also noticed it did live up to its word and lasted me all day.

This comes in two shades, the second one being 01 Golden Bronze which is a darker shade. They retail for £16.00 which i think is amazing as it is £7.00 cheaper than the MAC one and will last me ages. Overall i am over the moon with this product.

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation DUPE

Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation NW20

Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation NW20

MAC has to be one of my favourite brands by far. I love every product i have tried from this brand apart from a couple of the limited edition ranges. I tend not to buy any of the limited edition ones now and just stick to the general product range. MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation is one of my holy grail products. It can be used alone or on top of foundation to create that flawless base.

I have recently come across a very good dupe! The NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder. As you can see from the photos above the packaging is very similar. The product itself is also very similar. The NYX powder applies really well and also gives the skin that flawless end result.

The difference in price is £11.50! The NYX powder is £10.00 on the US NYX Website I got (natural) is sold out online on the NYX website. I did order it on Ebay from the States but it still worked out cheaper than buying it on the NYX website!

I am a NW20 in MAC and got the shade Natural in NYX but i think the shade Creamy Natural would of been better.
