Black and White Hair Pomade Review

Black and White Hair Pomade Review

My hair care routine is pretty basic, I wash my hair dry it and apply a couple of products and that is it. My hair is extremely thick and if it isn't straightened i look like a lion in the wild, its not a pretty sight! So when i was recently contacted by a PR Company to try the Black & White Hair Pomade i was very interested as i do need to update my routine.

The B&W Hair Pomade advertises easy use to mould, sculpt and create texture to your hair. I have to admit i have never used a product like this before so i was a little unsure as to what i should expect. I received a 50ml product which i can see Lasting a very long time. When i swatched the product it felt thicker than a serum but still easy to work with. I have tried this a few different ways to see which works best for me.

Firstly i straightened my hair as normal and then used this product on the ends of my layers going down the sides of my face to create texture and sculpt my hair a little more than just being extra straight. I loved the outcome and found this product kept my hair in place all day! Once i warmed it up and rubbed it into my hair it no longer felt sticky.

Secondly with having thick hair it is very hard to get my hair to stay in place especially when i pin it up. I decided before putting my hair in a bun i would run some of this down into my hair and then attempt my bun. I did find it kept all my stray hairs in place without making my hair look greasy.

I am really impressed with this product and how you only needed a tiny pea size amount. I could see this being perfect for shorter hair to add texture and keep in place. The only negative i have on this product is the packaging design. I found the design to be a little plain and boring, if i was in a store this packaging would not stand out to me at all.

Have you tried a hair pomade before?

Zoeva Brushes Review

After reading many bloggers rave about Zoeva Makeup Brushes i finally decided to order a couple from Beauty Bay. Beauty Bay is such a good website for high end brands including Too Faced, Urban Decay & more and the bonus is postage is free and it arrives within a couple of days! I apologise the brushes above are a little dirty as i just couldn't wait to use them. One thing i was really impressed with is each brush came in its own little wallet which is great to keep to use when travelling. So which brushes did i order?!

What Zoeva Say: "102 Silk Finish Brush features Taklon bristles which offer silky smooth application of powder foundation and mineral makeup. Delivering a streak-free finish and seamless blending".
Since receiving this brush i am in love. I don't actually use it for powder makeup i currently use it to contour! It works amazing as it is the perfect shape/size and works really well to blend with powder or liquid products.

What Zoeva Say: "105 Luxe Highlight Brush has a unique tapered shade with is perfect for highlighting and contouring the face. The perfect beauty tool for highlight your best features such as the cheekbones, nose, cupids bow or cleavage".
I love using this to highlight my cheekbones, it feels super soft and picks up product really well. The quality is amazing.

What Zoeva Say: "The perfect tool for creating smooth transitions between eye shadows and creating soft, seductive and feminine looks".
I am in love with this brush! I works perfect in my crease especially when using my transition shades and to blend them out. Alot of people compare this as a dupe for MAC's 217 Blending Brush which is £19.00.

Urban Decay Naked Concealer Review

I am a major foundation and concealer addict. I have many concealers for many uses. I like to have certain ones for my dark circles, another for blemishes, one for breakouts and one to highlight with. I will do a post of which concealers I use for which use but for now I wanted to review my latest buy the Urban Decay Naked Concealer.

Beauty Products For Oily Skin

Beauty Products For Oily Skin

Oily skin is the vein of my life! Im 23 and i have to say over the past few years it has become more oily. Overall my skin is pretty clear and i only get the odd breakouts around my chin. Having oily skin can be really hard to control unless you find the right products. After having many hit and misses, i have now finally found products which help massively!

Nivea Moisturising Day Cream | £3.99
This has been a new staple piece in my stash for the last few months. My boyfriend actually pointed it out as its oil free and is for oily & combination skin. You can also get this for dry skin too. I have to say i am really impressed by this! It cleared my skin alot and really makes my skin feel fresh. I use this morning and night, i love it that much i stocked up whilst it was on offer.

Rimmel Stay Matte Primer | £5.99
Primers are something i struggle with. I find any gel like primers i steer clear of as they just dont agree with my skin and make me more oily. I have tried smashbox's primer, maybelline baby skin and hated both. This primer has a moisturiser like texture but settles well and really helps reduce the oil. I have re purchased this at least 5 times and will keep on buying it.

I actually bought this 15ml off ebay as i didn't want to pay £28.00 for a full size incase i didn't like it. I have seen this featured on many You tubers videos and they all said it is perfect for oily skin. It reminds me of Urban Decays Pore Perfecting Primer (which i also love). I do find this one works if applied very sparsely. This can be purchased from Cult Beauty which is a UK based website (click the title link above) also if you would prefer to try a smaller size then you can purchase them on Ebay.

No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation | £13.50
If you have oily skin then you NEED this foundation. It honestly keeps me shine free all day long.

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation | £5.99
If you have oily skin and love full coverage then this is for you. Its comes in a squeezy tube and has a mousse like texture. I use a flat top buffer brush to apply this which does stop it looking cakey.

Seventeen Miracle Matte Powder | £5.49
Seventeen is one of my favourite drugstore brands. This is a loose powder which i don't usually like but i apply this on top of any foundation and it helps reduce shine massively. Seventeen also do this exact powder in a pressed powder form.

This has to be one of my favourite powders. This can be used alone or on top of foundation. I really love this powder as it gives me the flawless finish but also keeps the oil at bay. I always keep this in my handbag for touch ups as its compact with a mirror.

I have tried many setting sprays and found most do nothing! You can spray this before makeup and after. This is the only spray i have found helped my skin and kept my makeup looking fresh. A bonus is i find the bottle lasts me around a year which is amazing so for the price its well worth it.

NO7 Beautifully Matte Foundation Beige Review

I recently went into boots and purchased the No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation in the shade Beige. I have never tried any base products from No7 so I was intrigued to see how it worked with my skin. The foundation claims to be a Matte Finish, Medium-Full Coverage, Shine Free for 12 hours, Minimises Pores and also has SPF 15.

When I first applied this foundation I used my Real Techniques Sponge and I didn't like the finish at all. I tried it again the next day using my flat top brush and found I got the perfect flawless finish. On applying this foundation I would say it was medium coverage. I applied a little more over my chin and cheeks and found it built up easily to full coverage like I wanted. I let it set for around 5 minutes and then applied my powder on top.
NO7 Beautifully Matte Foundation Beige Review

After reading the claims of having shine free skin for 12 hours I didn't expect it to last at all. I have tried many foundations that claim to last but haven't lasted even 3 hours without touching up. I applied this at 8.30am and didn't check it again until 6pm and I have to say I was amazed. My oily skin is such a pain as I usually apply powder after 3-4 hours but with this I didn't feel the need to touch up all day! It really did last and I had no shine! My nose and chin are my worst area's which become really oily. At 6pm the only area I noticed the smallest amount of oil was the inner sides of my nose which I just blotted and it looked perfect again.

Overall this foundation has to be the best I have found yet. I am so shocked at how it kept me shine free. Any of you who have oily skin should give this a go. The shade range is very good and easy to find a match. Also I have to say I love that you can see how much product you have left, it reminds me of the Benefit Hello Foundation.

NO7 Beautifully Matte Foundation Beige Swatch

I am really happy with this foundation. Usually I only go for higher end foundations as I find the shade range is usually better and they work for my skin more but this one has really impressed me.

Skincare Routine For Oily Skin

Skincare Routine For Oily Skin

Finally after many years i think i have found my perfect skincare routine! I have to admit i have been very lazy with my skincare routines and never usually stuck to them. Over the past year i have really got myself into a routine and finally found products i could not live without, My young self (wow that makes me sound old and im only 23!) found skincare to be bit of a chore. Still to this day i do sometimes leave my makeup on at bedtime *slaps wrist* but this is very rarely. I thought i would introduce you to a few game changers that i could not live without.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water | £4.99
Now here is a product i could not live without. I remove my makeup using this and it removes it so easily without having to force it or rub hard. You can also use this to remove mascara and i have to say i have found this is the best/easiest product to remove mascara. It is quite a large bottle and lasts me ages.

Nivea Cleansing Mousse Face Wash | £4.99
Cleansing Mousse's are my new favourite thing. Its liquid in the bottom but once you pump it out it is a mousse. When i was my face with this it removes any left over makeup and leaves my skin feeling rather fresh. It doesn't irritate my skin at all! I have also used Simple's Face Mousse which is just as good.

I purchased this in Sainsburys a few months ago and i have to say WOW. I have very oily skin and get breakouts around my chin area. Since i have been using this i have noticed a huge difference in my skin. I barely get as many breakouts, my blemishes have reduced and it has also reduced shine. Nivea also do one of these for dry skin and sensitive skin so you can find one that suits you. I love it that much i stocked up whilst it was on offer.

Boots Vitamin E Eye Cream | £2.54
I bought this after reading a review online. The cream itself is a peachy/nude colour which applies smoothly under my eyes. I use this every night before bed and i have noticed a huge difference with my dark under eyes. This cream is that good it is usually always sold out online and most of the time sold out in boots. I would check your local boots and if not try ebay.

Sudocrem Skin Care Cream | £1.99*
I did mention on my blog a long time ago that i love to use Sudocrem for many uses. I occasionally use it all over my face as a face mask and on breakouts to reduce redness. So when i was asked to try this i was happy to. I have to admit i did expect more of a moisturiser type consistency but this is literally the cream you get in the tub but just put into a tube. I do find it hand in the tube rather than the tub as its easy for travelling or just popping in your handbag. I would definitely recommend trying this as a face mask!
