Benefit's The POREfessional Primer Review

Monday, January 26, 2015
Its Monday again already! This weekend has flown by and i really do have the Monday blues today. Even though im not feeling my best, today is the first day iv actually wanted to do a blogpost and looked forward to it. Its been a rough few weeks and iv really not been in the mood. So fingers crossed from today things can only get better!

Benefit's The POREfessional Primer Review

I haven't tried many Benefit products apart from the blushers which i loved. I guess when i find products i like i stick with them, especially with primers. My two favourites are Rimmel Stay Matte and Urban Decays Pore Perfecting Primer. Both of which are amazing for oily skin types. So when i got the sample size of this primer i was excited to give it a go as iv heard many mixed reviews.

I washed and applied my moisturiser as normal and left it for around 10 minutes before applying the primer. My first thoughts are i love the texture of it. I recently reviewed Smashbox's primer which is a very gel like consistency like the Maybelline Baby Skin which i hate! Any gel type primers i tend to stay away from. So back to this one in question, its very much similar to my mighty urban decay primer as they are both peachy in colour and have a thicker consistency.

How does it feel on my skin you ask? All i can say is, its like a dream! It glides over my dry areas and pores and makes them feel silky smooth and perfect. It doesn't leave a tacky feeling what so ever. I definitely notice my foundation looks alot smoother when using this primer.

Honestly im not too sure if its made much more of a difference to my oily skin as i still apply powder half way through the day. All in all its a new favourite of mine and i think i will definitely repurchase this again! The Benefit POREfessional Primer retails for £24.50.

Benefit How To Look The Best At Everything Flawless Complexion Kit Review

Wednesday, January 21, 2015
Hello Lovelies, How are you all? If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram or Bloglovin you will have noticed over the past week iv not really been about much. Im not going to go into detail but iv had some things going on and iv not been in the mood to blog or chat at all. Hopefully over the next few weeks ill get back into the swing of things. (Sigh of relief) Now that's done let me move onto today's post which iv been excited to blog about since receiving it as a gift at Christmas.

Benefit How To Look The Best At Everything Flawless Complexion Kit Review

Benefit How To Look The Best At Everything Flawless Complexion Kit Review

Iv only ever tried Benefit blushers and loved them, so i was really happy to get the "How to Look the Best at Everything: Flawless Complexion Makeup Kit". I find with most high end brands im worried about spending so much money and then not liking the product at all. So this was a great way to test out a few of the products iv had my eye on and see how i go. In the kit you get a primer, foundation, 2x Concealers and a powder.

I have actually kept all the packaging for this as it was just too pretty to throw away. The box itself reminds me of a fairy tale story book with the pastel colours and pretty writing. Who wouldn't love this?

The Pore Professional Primer iv heard so many good reviews and wanted to try it for a long time. It is definately a good primer depending on what you like. Im not going to go into too much detail as i will be doing a full review of the primer on its own very soon. The Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation isn't something iv been wanting to try as it is a light coverage which i prefer full. I have to say oh em gee im in love! Yes that's right with a light coverage foundation! My skin isn't bad its pretty clear with a little bit of redness. This foundation feels so lightweight on my skin and actually gives a pretty good coverage. I wore this all day and it lasted! No patches, nothing!

Moving onto the Boi-ing Concealers, i still havent made my mind up yet. I do struggle with dark under eye circles and this does not cover it up at all and i dont find the shades are the best. The Hello Flawless Powder looked a little dark for me. I usually either go for translucent or Mac NW20, so when i saw this i wasn't too sure. I applied the Benefit Foundation and then this powder on top and it looked flawless. It gave me a little more coverage and my skin looked amazing. The shade didn't look dark it blended well with the foundation.

Overall im so happy with this kit and would recommend it to anyone wanting to try out some Benefit products without buying the full size ones. This retails at £25.50 which i think is pretty good as the sizes you get will last a little while.

Maxfactor Face Finity 3in1 Foundation Review

Saturday, January 17, 2015
Hello lovelies, how is everyone? Sorry iv been a little absent on here and instagram etc... I've not had the best few days and just needed a little break away. Im back and feel so much better and ready to carry on as usual. Today's review is all about a foundation iv been using for the past week or so now. I'd seen it around on a few blogs and also my friend recommended it to me. I dont know about you but im a sucker for trying new foundations. I must have a least 15-20 in my draw!

Maxfactor Face Finity 3in1 Foundation Review

The product is of course Maxfactor's Face Finity Foundation. I have been using the primer version of this for some time which will be review in my upcoming Primer post reviewing drugstore and high end primers.

If you read my blog you will know i also like to review the packaging aswel as the actual product itself. I recently was given Mac's Studio Fix Fluid Foundation for Christmas which doesnt come with a pump! Its so annoying especially when you pay out alot for a foundation yet they want more money for the pump. So when i purchased this one i was so happy to seem it came not only with a pump but you can also turn the pump so you can lock it. The bottle is glass which gives it the high end look but for a drugstore price.

Maxfactor Face Finity 3in1 Foundation Review

It states it is a 3 in 1 foundation which includes Primer to hold, Concealer to correct, Foundation to finish. Iv never had a foundation that claims to do all of these so i was intrigued. I have tried applying this with both a brush and sponge. I do prefer it applied with the sponge as it gives that more flawless finish and spreads the product well. I do still find i need to apply concealer especially under my eyes.

Maxfactor also state that this is a high coverage foundation but i think i would have to disagree and say it is medium with a buildable ability. I do infact love how lightweight this feels on my skin. I have used many Maxfactor foundations mainly for nights out as they seem to be thicker and higher coverage. I was suprised this is so different to all their other foundations but it is my new favourite. It does retail at £11.99 but i managed to get mine from Ebay for £6.99.

Smashbox Try it Kit Review

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

Iv been wanting to try Smashbox makeup for a long time now so i was happy to get this as a present for Christmas. You basically get 5 tester size products of their bestsellers. It includes a primer, eye shadow primer, eyeliner, mascara and lipgloss. I wanted this kit so i could try the products before buying the full size ones as they are expensive its a great way to see if i like them first.

Iv seen alot of people rave about this primer so i was excited to try it out. I'm quite disappointed to say that i didn't love this primer like i thought i would. The texture is very much like Maybelline's Baby Skin Primer a gel like consistency. Maybe its just these types of primers i don't like? I have oily skin and found this to feel a little greasy on my skin and just wasn't for me. I'm glad i tried it so now i know i wont go purchasing the full size product.

After trying the face primer i wasn't too excited on trying this one. I have to say i was wrong! I love this, its completely different to the face primer. The texture is more creamy and has a beige colour to it. I applied this before applying my eye shadow and it felt very smooth on the skin. Iv had my eye shadow on all day and it has definitely helped my eye shadows last longer. It says it can also be used under the eyes to highlight. I will be looking into buying the full size for £15.00.

Im so impressed by this crayon. Usually i buy pencils so i didn't know what to expect using a crayon. Its black and applies so easily. Below you can see where i tried to wipe it off using a baby wipe and it is really hard to get off which is amazing for a liner.

When im looking for a mascara i always look for one that has a thicker wand as i like my eyelashes to look fuller and longer. When i tried this for the first time i loved it. It makes my lashes fuller without clumping.

I used to be a big fan of lipgloss until this year when iv started wearing more lipsticks. I was willing to try this gloss as it does look stunning. I found it looks gorgeous applied on top of a nude lipstick or worn on its own. It doesn't feel sticky and lasts quite a long time.

Beauty Must Haves of 2014

Monday, January 05, 2015
Hello Lovelies, how is everyone? I know most of you have been back to work today so i hope it wasnt to awful! As some of you may or may not know im actually stuck at home and have been the past 6 months! Im so bored sat in and id love to go back to work. Im waiting on my 2nd knee operation but the hospitals have messed up so many appointments its taking much longer than i thought. I have now been referred to Wrightington hospital in Wigan which is an hour drive from where i live but it means i get to see a knee specialist so after this operation i shouldn't have anymore problems. So 2014 for me wasn't the best of years but this year im hoping to get my knee sorted and finally move on.

I know everyone is doing this post of their most loved products of 2014 but i had to do one. I love reading posts like these so i hope you enjoy!

This is amazing for oily skin and such a good price! Rimmel also do one for other skin types.

Urban Decay Pore Perfecting Primer | £19.00
This is my 3rd time buying this and i love it. Its a peachy toned primer which definitely reduces pores.

It is expensive but it honestly lasts me around 3 months! A tiny bit goes a very long way. I also use this to highlight as i got a lighter shade than my foundation. It is also full coverage.

Seventeen Stay Time Foundation in "Natural" | £6.49
If you want a full coverage light weight foundation then this is it! Its the most full coverage one iv found yet. Iv never been so impressed by a foundation before.

Powders & Bronzer's

AMAZING! This has helped control my oily skin so much. I carry this in my bag and touch up when needed.

I mentioned the bronzer above but i also had to mention the blush. It is a dark pinky shade which looks stunning when applied, i cant get enough of it.

Beauty Must Haves

I love this as you get a wax, powder & highlighter. The highlighter isnt the best but the wax and powder i use on a daily basis.

NYX Eyeshadow Pot in "Boost" | £5.50
Really pigmented and gorgeous shades. I reviewed & swatched this shadow and two others, click the link below.

Seventeen Va Va Voom Mascara | £4.99
My soul mate! Iv struggled to get long thick lashes as i used to wear false ones everyday which ruined my own. This mascara definitely thickens my own!

I find some pencils just dont do the job you want. This pencil applies easily and you dont have to press hard or keep going over the same spot.

Makeup Revolutions Iconic 2 Palette | £4.00
Iv reached for this nearly everyday since i purchased it. The shades are gorgeous.

Must Have Makeup Brushes

Real Techniques Powder Brush | £12.99
Since using this i wont be changing to any other powder brush. Its big which i like and it picks up product really well.

MUA F9 Contour Brush | £5.00
This is an amazing dupe for Nars Contour Brush its so soft and feels so much more expensive. Worth a buy.

Iv mentioned this brush before. I got the set from ebay about a year ago and recently seen everyone is now buying them! They feel so high quality.

Real Techniques Brush (similar to their blush brush) | £9.99
I use this for my blusher everyday, its the perfect size.

Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation Review

Friday, January 02, 2015
Happy New Year! Hope you all had a lovely NYE. I went to London for a few days and watched the fireworks, it was amazing. I will be doing a post/haul of my trip to London but i need to take more pictures so it will be up either Sunday or Monday. Today i decided to review my Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation which my boyfriend bought me for Christmas. I haven't tried a Mac foundation before but i have loved all of my other Mac products iv tried.

Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation Review

First things first, the packaging. I love how it does come in a glass bottle which also makes foundation feel that bit more expensive but it doesn't come with a pump. It really does annoy me how you pay money for a top quality product but then they leave the pump off just so they can make extra money. I actually bought the pump a few days later from Selfridges which in store it only cost me £3.60. Once you put the pump on you cant put the original lid/top back on the foundation. One thing with the pump is that it does twist so you cant push it down by accident.

Next is the shade, my boyfriend picked this up in NC20 which is a yellow tone. Once applied on my skin it is a pretty good match and doesn't look too yellow based. I have tried applying this with my flat top face brush and also my Real Techniques Sponge. I found applying it with my brush did give me fuller coverage than using the sponge but when i used the sponge it spread the product better and i didn't use as much. The coverage i would say is medium.

So did it work well and last with my oily skin? I applied this early in the morning and used my Mac Studio Fix Powder on top and i then checked my foundation again around early afternoon and found it seemed to last well and not go patchy. The only thing i did notice was that it did cling to the small dry patches i have on my cheeks at the moment due to the horrible weather.

Overall i think this is a good foundation especially for oily skin rather than dry skin. Have you tried this foundation?
